With Out Feather Chicken

An Israeli geneticist, Avigdor Cahaner, created the world’s first featherless chicken at the genetics faculty at the Rehovot Agronomy Institute near Tel Aviv, Israel. The bare-skinned bird was created by cross breeding a broiler with a species that has a featherless neck.

The idea behind the development of this naked bird is that it will create a more ‘convenient’ and energy efficient chicken which can live in warm countries where feathered chickens don’t do well and cooling systems are too expensive to be commonly affordable. And of course, the bird doesn’t require plucking, saving additional money in processing plants.

5GP Free Space On Amazon

Amazon today unveiled a new storage service called Amazon Cloud Drive that gives you 5 GB of free online storage space to store your documents, photos, music and other files securely in the cloud. All you need is a free Amazon.com account to upload your files which you can then access from anywhere using a web browser.

Amazon Cloud Drive is purely an online file storage solution and the only client that you can use to upload or download files from your Cloud Drive account is your web browser.

Thus, for example, if you plan to copy your entire My Documents folder from the computer to Amazon’s cloud, you’ll have to upload files manually from the browser, one by one. Or, to save time, you could zip the entire folder into a single file and upload it in one go as Cloud Drive supports files as large as 2 GB in size. (Dropbox has a file size limit of 300 MB).

Amazon offers a handy desktop client that will scan your hard drive for music related files and will automatically put them to Cloud Drive - you then listen to your music from anywhere using the browser itself without having to download anything to that computer. Other than that, I think the Cloud Drive service is also good for manually backing up some of your really bulky files online - like those Outlook PSTs.

Amazon S3 vs Amazon Cloud Drive

There’s however one part about Cloud Drive that has surprised me a bit – the pricing structure. The service internally uses Amazon S3 for storage but if you compare the storage cost of these two services, you’ll find that Amazon S3 is nearly 80% more expensive than Cloud Drive.

Amazon charges 14¢ per month per GB for S3 which converts to around $1.78 per year (including the 10¢ data transfer fee) while Cloud Drive is available for a flat $1 per GB per year with no transfer-in or transfer-out fees. S3 is one of the popular choices for online backup but going forward, Cloud Drive could be a more cost-efficient option.

Bonus Tip – Upgrade to 20 GB for less than $1
All Amazon Cloud Drive users get 5 GB of free online storage space or you can pay $20 to upgrade to the 20 GB plan.

There’s another option as well. Amazon will upgrade your storage to 20 GB if you buy any MP3 Album from them. Now there are quite a few music albums on Amazon.com that are available for less than $1 – buy any one and you’ll be upgraded to 20 GB.

The only downside is that while Cloud Drive is available to everyone worldwide, Amazon’s music store is only for residents of the United States with a U.S. billing
address.

Six Planet System NASA Finds Earth-Size Planet Candidates In Habitable Zone

WASHINGTON -- NASA's Kepler mission has discovered its first Earth-size planet candidates and its first candidates in the habitable zone, a region where liquid water could exist on a planet's surface. Five of the potential planets are near Earth-size and orbit in the habitable zone of smaller, cooler stars than our sun.

Candidates require follow-up observations to verify they are actual planets. Kepler also found six confirmed planets orbiting a sun-like star, Kepler-11. This is the largest group of transiting planets orbiting a single star yet discovered outside our solar system.

"In one generation we have gone from extraterrestrial planets being a mainstay of science fiction, to the present, where Kepler has helped turn science fiction into today's reality," said NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. "These discoveries underscore the importance of NASA's science missions, which consistently increase understanding of our place in the cosmos."

The discoveries are part of several hundred new planet candidates identified in new Kepler mission science data, released on Tuesday, Feb. 1. The findings increase the number of planet candidates identified by Kepler to-date to 1,235. Of these, 68 are approximately Earth-size; 288 are super-Earth-size; 662 are Neptune-size; 165 are the size of Jupiter and 19 are larger than Jupiter.

Of the 54 new planet candidates found in the habitable zone, five are near Earth-sized. The remaining 49 habitable zone candidates range from super-Earth size -- up to twice the size of Earth -- to larger than Jupiter.

The findings are based on the results of observations conducted May 12 to Sept. 17, 2009, of more than 156,000 stars in Kepler's field of view, which covers approximately 1/400 of the sky.

"The fact that we've found so many planet candidates in such a tiny fraction of the sky suggests there are countless planets orbiting sun-like stars in our galaxy," said William Borucki of NASA's Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif., the mission's science principal investigator. "We went from zero to 68 Earth-sized planet candidates and zero to 54 candidates in the habitable zone, some of which could have moons with liquid water."

Among the stars with planetary candidates, 170 show evidence of multiple planetary candidates. Kepler-11, located approximately 2,000 light years from Earth, is the most tightly packed planetary system yet discovered. All six of its confirmed planets have orbits smaller than Venus, and five of the six have orbits smaller than Mercury's. The only other star with more than one confirmed transiting planet is Kepler-9, which has three. The Kepler-11 findings will be published in the Feb. 3 issue of the journal Nature.

"Kepler-11 is a remarkable system whose architecture and dynamics provide clues about its formation," said Jack Lissauer, a planetary scientist and Kepler science team member at Ames. "These six planets are mixtures of rock and gases, possibly including water. The rocky material accounts for most of the planets' mass, while the gas takes up most of their volume. By measuring the sizes and masses of the five inner planets, we determined they are among the lowest mass confirmed planets beyond our solar system."

All of the planets orbiting Kepler-11 are larger than Earth, with the largest ones being comparable in size to Uranus and Neptune. The innermost planet, Kepler-11b, is ten times closer to its star than Earth is to the sun. Moving outward, the other planets are Kepler-11c, Kepler-11d, Kepler-11e, Kepler-11f, and the outermost planet, Kepler-11g, which is half as far from its star as Earth is from the sun.

The planets Kepler-11d, Kepler-11e and Kepler-11f have a significant amount of light gas, which indicates that they formed within a few million years of the system's formation.

"The historic milestones Kepler makes with each new discovery will determine the course of every exoplanet mission to follow," said Douglas Hudgins, Kepler program scientist at NASA Headquarters in Washington.

Kepler, a space telescope, looks for planet signatures by measuring tiny decreases in the brightness of stars caused by planets crossing in front of them. This is known as a transit.

Since transits of planets in the habitable zone of sun-like stars occur about once a year and require three transits for verification, it is expected to take three years to locate and verify Earth-size planets orbiting sun-like stars.

The Kepler science team uses ground-based telescopes and the Spitzer Space Telescope to review observations on planetary candidates and other objects of interest the spacecraft finds.

The star field that Kepler observes in the constellations Cygnus and Lyra can only be seen from ground-based observatories in spring through early fall. The data from these other observations help determine which candidates can be validated as planets.

Password Manager-RoboForm

Password Manager, form filler, single sign-on? What is Roboform?

Roboform is described many different ways. Is it a password manager? A form filler? Single sign-on? Yes, it does all that. Honestly, it does a lot of things. Here is a list:

  • Password management - manage your password for website login and forms
  • Form Filler - fills out forms with all the common information so you don't have to
  • Secures passwords - encrypts and secures passwords at a single point of storage with 3DES encryption
  • Synchronizes passwords with PDAs & other computers
  • Multiple clients - there are Roboform clients for IE, Firefox, Palm, PocketPC / Windows Mobile, Symbian, and AOL/MSN.
  • Generates Random Passwords
  • Supports IE7 & Vista
  • Backup your passwords - for offsite storage. I mean, what would you do if you lost ALL your passwords?
  • Portable - with Roboform2Go, you can run Roboform from a USB key with no installation
  • FREE - Roboform is offered for download in a fully-functioning version with no ads or spyware . Additionally, you can obtain the Pro version of Roboform for $29.95.
Function
Many computer users must spend much time and energy creating different users' names and passwords to enter different websites, web accounts. Each of these passwords should be different than the others and contain letters, numbers, and should avoid trite or personal phrases that make a password easy to both remember and be guessed by someone trying to break in. An intelligent password manager and auto form filler is a recommended solution. Roboform offers an efficient solution to the problem. Roboform is a safe and intelligent password manager developed by Siber Systems to manage passwords freely and fill out online forms automatically so that you can complete your login details with just one simple click.
After installation of Roboform, the first time you enter a user's name and password for a site, account, forum or any other filling available spot on a web page, the intelligent auto form filler will pop up a dialogue box to prompt you and ask if you would like to save the information and create an identity for it. If you click ok, the auto form filler will memorize the user's name and password for the website and keep them on a passcard. When you log in the website again, the password manager will help you fill and submit your user's name and password automatically.
In order to manage passwords securely, you also have to set up a master password in order to encrypt data stored by Roboform. This is the only password that must be remembered. It must be entered when you log into your computer to manage passwords and other data.

Other features

The password manager can easily generate random, distinct, and secure passwords to protect important private information to mitigate hacker's attacks. The password manager also has a portable version, which allows you to carry and run the program and have access to all your data on a USB flash drive. The USB flash drive can be plugged into almost any computer allowing access to the program and data. When the mobile drive is removed from the host computer, the program and data is removed with it.
Roboform is a relatively small program, 10.8mb, which can be downloaded and installed easily, securely and quickly. With Roboform simple, intuitive and user friendly interface, users can easily access the function.

Maps 6.0 Goes Indoors Google

“Where am I?” and “What’s around me?” are two questions that cartographers, and Google Maps, strive to answer. With Google Maps’ “My Location” feature, which shows your location as a blue dot, you can see where you are on the map to avoid walking the wrong direction on city streets, or to get your bearings if you’re hiking an unfamiliar trail. Google Maps also displays additional details, such as places, landmarks and geographical features, to give you context about what’s nearby. And now, Google Maps for Android enables you to figure out where you are and see where you might want to go when you’re indoors.

When you’re inside an airport, shopping mall or retail store, a common way to figure out where you are is to look for a freestanding map directory or ask an employee for help. Starting today, with the release of Google Maps 6.0 for Android, that directory is brought to the palm of your hands, helping you determine where you are, what floor you're on, and where to go indoors.

Detailed floor plans automatically appear when you’re viewing the map and zoomed in on a building where indoor map data is available. The familiar “blue dot” icon indicates your location within several meters, and when you move up or down a level in a building with multiple floors, the interface will automatically update to display which floor you’re on. All this is achieved by using an approach similar to that of ‘My Location’ for outdoor spaces, but fine tuned for indoors.

How Do I Use the Peak Flow Meter for Asthma?

What is Peak Flow Meter The peak expiratory flow (PEF), also called peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) is a person's maximum speed of expiration, as measured with a peak flow meter, a small, hand-held device used to monitor a person's ability to breathe out air. Asthma and the Peak Flow Meter. A peak flow meter is an inexpensive, portable, handheld device for those with asthma that is used to measure how well air moves out of your lungs. Measuring your peak flow using this meter is an important part of managing your asthma symptoms and preventing an asthma attack.

The peak flow meter works by measuring how fast air comes out of the lungs when you exhale forcefully after inhaling fully. This measure is called a "peak expiratory flow," or "PEF." Keeping track of your PEF, is one way you can know if your symptoms of asthma are in control or worsening.
Why Use a Peak Flow Meter? Readings from a peak flow meter can help you or your child recognize early changes that may be signs of worsening asthma. During an asthma attack, the muscles in the airways tighten and cause the airways to narrow. The peak flow meter alerts you to the tightening of the airways often hours or even days before you have any asthma symptoms. This allows you to know when to take your rescue (quick acting) asthma inhaler or other asthma medicine. By taking rescue medications before you have symptoms of an asthma attack, you may be able to stop the narrowing of the airways quickly and avoid a severe asthma emergency.

The peak flow meter can also be used to help you:

Learn what triggers your asthma
Decide if your asthma action plan is working
Decide when to add or adjust asthma medications
Know when to seek emergency care

It is important to know that your peak flow meter only measures the amount of airflow out of the large airways of the lungs. Changes in airflow caused by the small airways (which also occur with asthma) will not be detected by a peak flow meter. Early warning signs, however, may be present. Therefore, it is important for you to also be aware of your symptoms and early warning signs to best manage your asthma. Who Should Use a Peak Flow Meter?

Peak flow meters are very helpful if you or your child have moderate to severe asthma and require daily asthma medications. Even children ages 4 and up should be able to use a peak flow meter with good results. People with moderate-to-severe asthma should have a peak flow meter at home.
How Do I Use the Peak Flow Meter for Asthma?

A peak flow meter is simple to use for tracking your asthma. Here's what you do:

Stand up or sit up straight.
Make sure the indicator is at the bottom of the meter (zero).
Take a deep breath in, filling the lungs completely.
Place the mouthpiece in your mouth; lightly bite with your teeth and close your lips on it. Be sure your tongue is away from the mouthpiece.
Blast the air out as hard and as fast as possible in a single blow.
Remove the meter from your mouth.
Record the number that appears on the meter and then repeat steps one through seven two times. Record the highest of the three readings in an asthma diary. This reading is your peak expiratory flow (PEF).

To ensure the results of your peak flow meter are comparable, be sure to use your meter the same way each time you take a reading.

Choose Laptop,Notebook Or Desktop for Your Need Useful Tips

If you want to buy a computer you will be having options of desktop PC, Laptop or Notebook. Which one to choose will depend on your needs and, of course, your budget.

A desktop PC is one that will remain on a desk in your office or bedroom. It will come with separate parts, usually a tower, which contains the brains of the barebones pc as well as the DVD drive. It will usually come with a monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Laptop Netbook or Desktop

Where as, a laptop or netbook is an all-in-one device that is also portable. It can be carried with you from room to room, between home and work, or used while on the road during travelling. Laptops have a battery that can last anywhere ranging from 1.5 hours to 4 hours, depending on the type of application you run on it. Laptops have a built-in monitor, a built-in keyboard and a built-in mouse which can very in size depending upon the model.

Why go for a Netbook?

Although normally people don’t segregate laptop and netbooks but technically both are different terms. Netbook is much smaller and lighter than laptop. It is designed for lightweight normal office tasks and not for heavy usage like gaming and other multimedia usages. If size and weight is the most premium aspect for you, Netbook is the right answer.

Why go for a Laptop?

Netbooks may be much lighter and smaller than laptops but they are restricted in functionalities as well, e.g. If you want to run heavy applications then netbook would not be the ideal option (effort are being taken to make netbook much efficent), So if you want a computer that can run heavy applications and can be used anywhere (like in home and office etc), then you need a laptop. Also, you may choose to buy a laptop if you desire to have luxury to roam when using your computer at home. A fully charged laptop can give you a few hours of use and will let you work from your living room, bedroom or even your backyard. On the other hand, a desktop PC will restrict you to working from the location where the PC is installed.

Why go for a Desktop?

While laptops have clear benefits in terms of weight, mobility, and equipment, desktop computers are superior when it comes to the ability to upgrade. Installing multiple hard drives or optical drives is no problem. Even replacing defective parts or upgrading hardware is much more simply achieved with a desktop computer than with a netbook or a laptop.

If you want a computer that can store a huge amount of music files or a computer that will let you play games, then a desktop PC is the correct choice. A powerful desktop PC is normally less expensive than a powerful netbook or laptop with similar specifications, and a desktop PC also has an advantage in that it can be easily expanded if your needs change (you can add more storage, RAM or a better graphics card at a later date).

But you should always keep in mind that Developer preview will probably have much more bugs than Beta versions. So, don’t depend on it totally as it’s not a bug free version. If you want a more stable version, stick to the release (Stable) channel. The last release of chrome is 15.0.874.106. You might also want to check the Beta version 16.0.912.21.

So, what’s new in this version?

1 – Updated V8 – 3.6.6.3 :

(V8) is a brand new JavaScript engine which is much faster than existing JavaScript interpreters that makes chrome load pages fast and efficiently.

or i shall call it a new design for that page. It’s just an update to the design. But technically, no new features in this new extension manager. It’s a new tab in the Options menu. You can still access it from the address bar by typing chrome://extensions/ or chrome://settings/extensions in the address bar.

3 – More chrome Experiments ( Flags ) :

Most of the changes between version 17.0.928.0 and 16.0.912.21 are found in the Flags, which is where the chrome developers spend a lot of time improving and adding new features. And here are the new changes in the flags as found in the flags page.

First, to access the chrome flags, just type chrome://flags/ or chrome:flags in the address bar

1 - Enable syncing app notifications : Enable app notifications in the sync options. This allows syncing notifications received from your apps to other clients.

2 – Enable extension alerts : Enable various alerts about changes in extension state.

3 - HTTP Pipelining : Enable experimental pipelining of HTTP requests.

Muharram |

Ashura (عاشوراء transliteration: ‘Āshūrā’, Ashura, Ashoura, and other spellings) It is on the 10th day of Muharram in the Islamic calendar and marks the climax of the Remembrance of Muharram but not the Islamic month. It is also called Yaumu-l ‘Ashurah, or simply Ashura meaning, ‘the tenth day’.

It is well-known because of historical significance and mourning for the martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad at the Battle of Karbala in the year 61 AH (AD 680). It is a day of speeches, public processions, and great grief. Men and women chant and weep, mourning Husayn, his family, and his followers. Speeches emphasize the importance of the values for which Husayn sacrificed himself, his family, and his followers. For centuries Shi’a pilgrims flocked here during Muharram, a practice which was severely limited under the regime of Saddam Hussei

Home Made Remedy For Kidney Stones

Symptoms for Kidney Stones

Kidney stones don’t always cause symptoms as the extent and severity of the symptoms would depend primarily on the location of the kidney stone and then on the size of the stone. Generally the symptoms will not appear until the stone has moved into the ureter. You would then be likely to experience some or possibly all of these symptoms:

•Severe pain towards the side and back, just beneath the ribs.

•Pain may radiate from the groins and lower abdomen and urination is likely to be particularly painful.

•Change in urine color, with urine being pink, red or brown is also likely. You may also feel a persistent urge to urinate.

•At times there may also be nausea and possibly vomiting.

•If there is also an infection you may experience fevers and chills.
